Location: Brooklyn, NY
So you bought a tattoo machine on Amazon during your stint in quarantine and couldn’t figure out how to even turn it on? Or have you always imagined you’d become a Tattoo Artist in New York City?
Either way, you are an aspiring tattoo artist, but you have no idea where to start. Yet, you live in NYC, a concrete jungle where dreams are made of! The city that never sleeps! Indeed, you can easily find a tattoo apprenticeship that will guide you in your tattoo journey, right?
The sad fact is that few Professional Tattoo Artists want to spend time answering questions from aspiring tattoo artists about the tattoo business. And even fewer who want to teach you the necessary skills needed to be successful in the tattoo industry.
However, suppose you’re lucky enough to find an artist who will give you the time of day. In that case, they may have you doing menial labor, scrubbing toilets, running errands, walking dogs, washing cars, and a million other things that have nothing to do with tattooing.
In another scenario, you could be even worse. You could find yourself in the middle of a scam! You googled ‘tattoo training’ and found a program that promises you great success as a tattoo artist after a few weeks of training. What? Too good to be true? YES!
Don’t fall for online scammers who promise you a career as a Professional Tattoo Artist after a few weeks. This is impossible. Absolutely, truly, impossible! These people are trying to steal from you, so avoid them.
At this point, you may be on the verge of giving up on the idea of a career in tattooing because the obstacles seem to outweigh the opportunities. However, we urge you NOT to GIVE UP!
You can become a Professional Tattoo Artist and make a living from your art. Luckily, you’ve stumbled on Ink Different Tattoo School’s corner of the internet, with our physical location in East Williamsburg right off the ‘L’ train.
