Roz has always been an artist and a creative. He went to college for filmmaking with dreams of working in Hollywood. But after four years of school, he realized that filmmaking was not necessarily the best fit for him. It can be disappointing when you realize the path you thought was your future is no longer the right one for you. But there is honesty and bravery in accepting this reality. And the key is choosing the way you keep moving forward. For Roz, art was still his focus. That much had not changed.
“I came out of college and realized that it wasn’t the career path for me.”
It’s easy to get lost in a sense of disappointment when a significant shift in your career happens like it did for Roz. But his art and desire to be creative in his work kept him moving forward. That was always his goal in life and even though he wasn’t sure would be next. He continued to dive into his artwork until he found what would ultimately be his new career. When Roz found the apprenticeship program at Ink Different Tattoo School, it was a perfect fit because it allowed him to seamlessly continue his artwork and put him on a new and exciting career path.“I felt sort of lost in a sense…I found this program and it was just a great segue into continuing to create art.”
At Ink Different Tattoo School, Roz finally found a program that put him on a creative path that not only felt right but gave him a sense of fulfillment and purpose. Yet his discovery didn’t end there. It’s not enough to just get the training you’re looking for. You need to put that training into practice in an environment that lets you reach your full potential with safety and confidence. Roz found that at Ink Different Tattoo School. During his apprenticeship and afterwards, he found a safe space with like minded artists who are eager to collaborate and learn from each other. And it’s this environment that has allowed him to thrive and develop his skills as a tattoo artist.“It was definitely the environment that made me realize that this tattoo shop is pretty different from other places… there’s this feeling of learning and teaching one another even once you’ve become an artist. It’s sort of this kinship between everyone.”
