1. Interview with an Advisor!
Apply by submitting your artwork. If your artwork is approved for enrollment, you will be invited to interview with an Admissions Advisor.
2. Start From Home - Finish In Our Studios
As a tattoo apprentice, you’ll start online in a live virtual classroom, where you will work one-on-one with your trainer. Once you pass your virtual classroom requirements, you’re ready to complete your apprenticeship in one of our studios. Apprenticeships generally take 1 year to complete.
3. Guaranteed Job Offer
Upon completion of the full tattoo apprenticeship, Ink Different's Tattoo Artist Certification Program, we welcome you to tattoo at one of the Ink Different owned or Affiliated tattoo studio. You will have all the skills necessary to provide quality custom tattoos with world-class customer service to your clients.
How to Become a Tattoo Artist in North Jersey, NJ
You might recognize Caroline Evans from Seasons 1 and 3 of Ink Master, but her story goes far deeper. Caroline has been tattooing since 1998 and traveling the convention circuit since 2002, working in styles ranging from delicate fine line to bold color and black & gray realism.
She’s incredibly passionate about challenging cover-up work, Celtic Knotwork, portraiture, and animal portraits—many of which have earned her awards and accolades nationwide. But what sets Caroline apart is her artistic spirit. She paints in oil and acrylic, works with ceramics and found materials, and expresses her creativity through photography and writing. She also serves as the Alliance of Professional Tattooists Board Secretary, where she helps shape industry standards and advocates for Tattoo Artists across the state.
